A hearts and arrows scope consists of three parts, a blue tube, transparent tube and a lens.
It colours the light entering the diamond allowing us to localise where the reflections come from in the stone itself. It quickly highlights how symmetrical the diamond is and how precisely it has been cut. When viewing the top of the diamond, you should see 8 perfect arrows reflecting white light. Viewing from the back should show 8 heart shapes also reflecting white.
