Seemingly undeterred, where in which, Rondel wrote on the 20th June 2017, quote “forecast says there’s a storm coming, I’d say they’re right. 620,” unquote. Fast forward to the 2017 Pan-American Powerlifting Championships (NAPF), Rondel was resulted with both a world leading juniors total of an incredible 865.5kg, within the 105kg weight class, veering close to Yury Belkin’s 2014 world junior record total of 867.5kg by a mere fraction of 0.23% or 2kg.

Therefore, within a one year span, the young athlete, ended 2017 season, moving from thirteenth position to number one junior athlete, plus a number four overall position to further ‘top’ off the year. An increment of 865.5kg, equates to a one year percentile total progression of 12.40% between 2016 and 2017 for Rondel.

At the 2018 IPF World Classic championships, rondel continued his steam rolling momentum, whereby, he effectively shattering the 2014 juniors world record total of 867.5kg, which was held by Russia’s Yuriy Belkin, with both a world leading (both Juniors and Senior) total of 883.5kg, which also equates to both a one year progression of 2.08% and a two year progression of 14.48%, which is 9.73% above some of the top ten 105kg athletes first two years average group progression rate.
