A little precision controlled presplit, presplit, trim/cushion, and a ton of production blasting! We are finally getting near the end. The vertical joints are extremely weak and just about intersect the controlled blast line at a 30 degree angle. Considering the cohesionless seams, terrible joints, and dip direction the wall is coming out substantially well. Stability is the key and the highwall is of most importance to NMDOT. Please don't leave your local explosive engineer out of design decisions during feasibility assessments to ensure expectations are met!!!!
