One of the toughest things to do in traditional painting is match a color you've previously used. Photoshop solves this by allowing you to save any color you like. You can even pull up your saved colors years later. The Swatches panel even let you save entire pallets of colors all grouped together.
1. Open the Swatches panel by clicking Window -- Swatches in the top menu bar and making sure it's checked. 2. This panel is basically your working pallet of colors. There are several different default pallets, and you can add a custom swatch to any of the pallets simply by creating a color and then clicking on the Add swatch icon at the bottom of the screen.3. In the panel's menu, the first option is New Swatch, followed by the options to change the look of the panel.4. Beneath the next section where you can choose to Reset, Load, Save or Replace Swatches, there is a large section showing you your various default pallet options, such as PANTONE, HKS and others.5. You can delete colors in your pallet simply by clicking on the chosen color, holding down the mouse button and dragging the selected color to the trash icon at the bottom. The second way to do this is to right-click on your chosen color and choose Delete Swatch. 6. To save your own pallet, click on the panel menu and select Save Swatches. Save it to the folder of your choice. 7. Click on the panel menu again and select a different color pallet, such as ANPA Colors. This will show you the colors within that pallet. At any time you can Load Swatches by choosing the option in the panel menu. This will add any pallet that you've saved to your Swatches panel.
