A wonderful track and the B side to 'Night Owl', the single: the name of the follow up record to Gerry Rafferty's behemoth: 'City To City'. 'Why won't you talk to me' has a folky, almost country feel to it, and I have to admit that the entire album is a winner! It is, for me, a perfect LP! 1980 was an impactful year for my adolescence, and 'Night Owl', Nicolette Larson's 'In the nick of time', 'Linda Ronstadt's 'Mad love' and Billy Joel's 'Glass Houses' were seminal works that remain favorites,some 35 years on.

Although Rafferty's death in 2012 was indeed premature and tragic, his legacy is that amazing body of work that is boutique pop at its finest. He was a no frills, no frills artist, preferring to let the music speak for itself. And did it ever!
