Testing out my homemade steel targets. The plates are 10mm mild steel suspended by a bolt and short length of chain. The mounting points on the plates are 1/3rd down to allow the plate to 'resonate' without losing energy too quickly.

I had some issues with frosting on my red dot. Probably too much grease in the Nielsen device/piston.

Repeated follow up shots on the same target can be dangerous with this design as the plate can rotate to angles that may cause a ricochet back at the shooter. This issue could be improved by using too mounting points, however it will dampen the sound. The plates are angled down when static.

Subsonic 9mmP loads are powder coated 147gr Silver Rapids, loaded with 3.4gr of TiteGroup. Average velocity of 960fps equating to a PF of 141.
