📌 This stich has the most wonderful texture as it has a raised, bobble-like effect. The blanket is SO soft and SUPER squishy!
Another great feature of this blanket is that it’s really quick and easy to work up – you only have to repeat 1 row throughout the pattern!

📌 I finished my blanket off with a simple border consisting of 4 rounds of single crochet stitches. I then attached a pom pom to each corner.

📌 ADJUST THE FINISHED SIZE / USE A DIFFERENT YARN WEIGHT:
The finished size of this blanket is 28 by 28 inches, but you can make it in any size you wish. If you would like to change the size or use a different weight of yarn, you will need to adjust the length of your foundation chain. Make a foundation chain that equals the width you would like your blanket to be. The starting chain should be a multiple of 3 + 1 (plus 1 extra for the foundation chain). You can see how I worked out the multiple in the ‘Pattern Notes’ section of the free written pattern: https://maisieandruth.com/easy-crochet-baby-blanket-the-barclay-baby-blanket/ You will then work your blanket until you have reached the desired length. When using a different weight of yarn and hook size, make sure that you order enough yarn to complete your project!

📌 For ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS:
I would suggest that you practise this pattern with a small sample first: make a chain of 20 then follow the pattern from there.

📌 DESCRIPTION:
For the yarn I used Paintbox Yarns Simply Chunky, which is a #5 bulky yarn, in the colour Duck Egg Blue. For the crochet hook, I used a K hook (6.5mm).
