One of the ultimate goals I've had for this channel is to make higher yielding investing more of a mainstream investing strategy. Not just among retirees but also people who might not be anywhere close to retiring. The allure of holding investments in stocks and funds that pay actual, worthwhile distributions is something that I fell in love with while I was working at Vanguard many years ago. At the same time, because higher yielding investing isn't as mainstream as index funds, day trading or growth stocks, the information out there is somewhat limited. And along the way I've made plenty of mistakes or just done things that I wish I would've taken into account before pursuing a higher yielding investment strategy. So in this video I want to go over a few things that I wish I knew before pursuing the strategy that I have today. And these are all things that aren't the usual cliches, like avoiding the highest yielding stuff.
