medical journal Injury Prevention reports that between May and August, 40 escalator injuries in Japan have been linked to Crocs or similarly made rubbery clogs. The no-skid appeal of the shoes has apparently resulted in some shoes getting caught in the front or side of a moving escalator step. Most injuries were minor, but in one case, a 5-year-old girl broke her middle toe.
