DEEPLY EVOCATIVE NARRATIVE & ADDICTIVE MELODIES
The force behind The Changing Room is songwriter Tanya Brittain, who manages to weave deeply evocative narrative around enchanting and addictive melodies. With a musical career spanning thirty years, Tanya brings a wealth of creative influences and performing experience, which is immediately apparent in the subject matter, depth and beauty of the songs on the EP. Despite the inauspicious start at the age of fourteen, as resident organist in several South Yorkshire social clubs this in no way diminished Tanya’s ambition and talent as a songwriter, musician and vocalist – and has even possibly been a vital source of inspiration and motivation.
More recently, in addition to performing and recording, Tanya has also been hugely influential in promoting live music and festivals in the South West. Originally from Sheffield, now living in Cornwall, the landscape, culture and surrounding sea have provided Tanya with the backdrop and inspiration for A River Runs Between.

Singer, song-writer and multi-instrumentalist Sam Kelly hails from the depths of Norfolk. Sam’s link to folk music is in the Gaelic folk songs that his Irish grandfather would teach him to sing as a child. Although many individual songs and tunes have been lost in the blur of childhood memory, Sam has never lost the love and child-like awe for the beautiful sounds of traditional music, and this passion pours out of him in every note he sings.

FISHERMEN’S CHOIR INVOLVED IN NEW MUSIC PROJECT
Since is formation in 1923, Polperro Fishermen’s Choir has delivered rousing male choral performances in Cornwall, and across the UK. On most Wednesday evenings throughout the summer the choir can be enjoyed on the quay in Polperro, south east Cornwall. Their involvement in A River Runs Between brings a powerful, traditional and emotive edge to the songs. Under the musical direction of Phil Carrigan, Polperro Fishermen’s Choir add a unique dimension to the already impressive arrangements.
BOO HEWERDINE PRODUCES “SOMETHING VERY SPECIAL” One of the most successful British songwriters ever, singer songwriter and record producer Boo Hewerdine agreed to produce the The Changing Room’s first EP. Boo’s work includes lead singer and creative force behind The Bible, formed in the 1980s, and reformed in 1994, as well as solo recordings and work for film. He has also written for recording artists such as Eddi reader, Heidi Talbot, Miranda Sykes and Chris Difford. Boo said “I met Tanya at a songwriting retreat and she told me about her hopes for this project. It is thrilling to see it come to fruition and exceed expectations. The start of something very special.”
LEGENDARY RECORD PRODUCER JON KELLY ADDED TO THE CHANGING ROOM’S ALREADY IMPRESSIVE LIST OF CREDITS
Jon is one of the ‘Great British Producers’. He has produced and mixed legendary albums for an incredible spectrum of artists including The Beautiful South, Heather Nova, Tori Amos, Paul McCartney, Deacon Blue, Prefab Sprout, Kate Bush and Paul Heaton’s solo album. He is currently working on The Changing Room’s debut EP and forthcoming album.
CROOK ADDS HAUNTINGLY BEAUTIFUL HARP ARRANGEMENT
In a career that has led her from the BBC Young Tradition Award to touring with Snow Patrol, Jennifer Crook has earned a reputation for outstanding harp playing as well as her singing and songwriting skills. Jennifer adds her hauntingly beautiful harp arrangements to the title track of A River Runs Between.
