Something a wee bit different for a change... Ok a BIG bit different...
A wee treat, one of my all time favourite movies called "That Sinking Feeling" by Bill Forsyth (the director of Gregory's Girl & Local Hero). This was his very first movie from way back in 1979 and has always had a special place in my heart...
Tis the story of the great kitchen sink heist and takes place in a fictional town called Glasgow...
The humour and accents are pure Glesga and just goes to prove that we Scots don't have to swear every sentence contrary to popular belief...
I've restored it with the original Glaswegian soundtrack cos about 7 or 8 years ago they finally released it on DVD after some 40 years of waiting, sadly they redubbed it with "posh" choochter accents because the diddies that made the DVD thought no one would be able to understand the Glaswegian accents (feckin bunch o tubes) which drained all the humour from it and it sunk like a pair of wellies full of lead in a duck pond...
So if like me you grew up in the gritty, grimy Glasgow of the 1970's then here's a wee trip down memory lane with many sites, sounds and places you'll no doubt remember...
For everyone else then this is basically a look back to a different time and era long gone by and the kind of typical Scottish patter and humour that was the world in which I grew up... Enjoy...
