You’re out on a jog one particularly dark night when suddenly you feel woozy and weak. You stop in the sickly orange glow of a street lamp to rest on the curb and you notice a chef taking a smoke break in the nearby alley. Suddenly, the air grows heavy and still as a slick shape emerges from the manhole by the alley. The nude silhouette shifts unnaturally through the shadows toward the oblivious chef.
How does he not notice the creature?! You try to call out - to warn him - but your head is pounding and your voice catches in your throat. In an instant, the chef is overpowered and swallowed whole... leaving only his hat and jacket. You can hear your heartbeat in your ears, and in a dazed panic you shoot to your feet. The sewer beast snaps his head in your direction and the moonlight glints blindingly off of its tiny glasses as he peers at you from the thick darkness. You lose consciousness instantly.
Waking up in your running clothes on your couch, you let out a sigh of relief. “Just a dream,” you say to yourself, and begin to slip back into a deep sleep, but your hazy slumber is sharply interrupted by the ruckus of a public access cooking show on the television. The image of the man on screen is… off... somehow. There is something sickeningly familiar about his odd shape and inhuman movements as he babbles in that dingy chef's hat and jacket. Then you see it. Your hand darts to your head as a hot panic overwhelms you and you feel the distinct lack of your jogging headgear. That… that thing on the TV is wearing YOUR sweatband over its hat! The harsh studio lights glint off its tiny glasses as he stares from the screen… at you.
You scream. You want to run - to look away - but you sit there frozen, shaking, clutching your couch and begging to wake up once more. But then you realize... “Oh, that’s just Michael from Wizards with Guns!” You must’ve caught him gathering a wardrobe for the newest comedy sketch earlier. You laugh... and then... YOU DIE.
