Talking Heads - "The Book I Read" performered during the 1983 "Stop Making Sense Tour". This song didn't make it to the final movie cut of the highly acclaimed Talking Heads concert film "Stop Making Sense".
On the original setlist, "The Book I Read" comes after "Love Goes to Building on Fire" (which didn't make it to the movie either). For "The Book I Read" background singer Edna Holt joins the band on stage. "Slippery People" comes after "The Book I Read", and both background singer Lynn Mabry and percussionist Steve Scales come on stage.
