Tower of Power (or TOP for short) is an American R&B-based horn section and band, originating in Oakland, California, that has been performing for over 44 years. They are best known for their funky soul sound highlighted by a powerful horn section and precisely syncopated bass-guitar lines.

"Down To The Nightclub" is a track featured on the album "Bump City" the second album by Tower of Power. Though it only peaked at #66 nationally on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, the single has always enjoyed massive airplay on West Coast radio. The album cover is derived from a sketch by group drummer David Garibaldi. It's also their first album for Warner Bros. Records.
