I sincerely wanted to do a little tribute to RUSH Drummer Neil Peart who sadly passed away on Friday!
Unfortunately my drumming skills are non existent and even if they were, it would take me 100 lifetimes to perfect the percussive genius of 'Tom Sawyer'!
I can however honour the man's lyrics and I've chosen to do this by singing the very last part of Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres from The Hemispheres album!
Hemispheres was the very first Rush album I got into thanks to Darren Walsh! It was completely mind blowing and this little piece finished side 1 of the album (for those of you old enough to remember vinyl lol)
I couldn't sleep last night as this was going around and around in my head so I felt quite compelled to do it!
It's only a minute long but the lyrics are just amazing and still so very relevant!
Neil had such a beautiful command of the English language and painted the sonic landscapes of Alex and Geddy's compositions with the most incredible and heartfelt words.
If you haven't taken the journey, it's never to late to discover possibly the greatest musical voyage ever!
RIP Neil Peart.. A true legend and giant of the musical universe.
