Written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, specifically with Ringo Starr in mind, this song appeared on Ringo's 1974 album "Goodnight Vienna". Elton himself played piano for Ringo's recording - it's him we hear counting off the song at the beginning! Guitar was played by Robbie Robertson (of The Band) and bass was provided by the great Klaus Voorman. On the synthesizer was James Newton-Howard, who later became keyboardist in the Elton John band, and of course even later, a great Hollywood filmscore composer. And a great horn section by Trevor Lawrence, who later played in Stevie Wonder's band. And did we mention Ringo Starr on drums? In short - WHAT A BAND!!!!!
