This is a great song written by Martha Trachtenberg, a resident of Long Island and one of my favorite songwriters and people. Her songs have been recorded by Tony Trischka & Skyline ("Ticket Back") and Jim Hurst and others, and she was one of the members of the seminal bluegrass band The Buffalo Gals. Many years back she was selected to showcase a pair of her songs at the annual IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) conference at their Songwriters Showcase, and I was her accompanist and this was one of the songs.
