This is my first big animation project, but hopefully not my last! I learned a lot in this process about OpenToonz and animation principles, and after I take a break I'm itching to start another one.

I first heard this song in the 2000s. It's my favorite Cake song for the simple but big chords and the tongue-in-cheek lyrics. I was definitely one of those people trying to decipher the secret meaning in every Cake song and in everything else, so this one caught me. I was only doing what English class had taught me. :P

This was long before I had heard of Mastodon or cared about Twitter. Back then, after a few listens I visualized something very much like what you're watching. Only now that the open-source tools are ready did I finally sit down and start making it -- and as fate would have it, it was right as Twitter was exploding and many were jumping to Mastodon.
