Bank Holiday Weekend, August 1973 I went to a place on the edge of Europe called Doolin. A gang from Newbridge packed into the mother's brown Wolseley. Hearing the musicians in O'Connor's that weekend, watching the Germans, the Dutch, the Dubs, all loving the music and the songs, well it changed my life. And that weekend I learned Lonesome Robin from Guy Carawan. Written by Bob Coltman. I never tire of singing it, and it always reminds me of one of the best weekends of my youth. No doubt it will be aired at the Doolin Folk Festival, and I can't wait,
