Mr George Lindo, 27, of Bradford, was cleared on 8 June at the Court of appeal London of alleged robbery of a Bradford betting shop.
He had been jailed on 2 March 1978 by Bradford Crown Court, despite no direct evidence against him only evidence of a false 'confession' obtained by a detective constable David Brierley.
Who was later suspended from the police force for allegedly having concocted witness statements in an earlier Yorkshire murder case.
