When I paint watercolors use wet on wet style, I generally follow the following order. I usually apply water to the paper first and then add #1 the lighterst tone of color. Then, apply #2 tone of color onto #1, then add #3 dark tone of color, #4….. and finialy add #5 tone of color to the some detail area.
