On January 22, 1951, an hour-long Lux Radio Theatre radio play titled Broken Arrow was performed, featuring Burt Lancaster (in place of an unwell James Stewart) and Debra Paget. On September 7, 1951, it was also shown as a half-hour episode of Screen Directors Playhouse, starring Jeff Chandler and James Stewart in their original motion picture parts. The book and movie served as inspiration for a 1956–1958 television series of the same name, with Michael Ansara playing Cochise and John Lupton playing Jeffords.
