If they were to ask us which song we are most proud of, Eurydice would be our first answer. A love letter, sweet and melancholy, written as if it were Orpheus himself to apologize to Eurydice for turning around and causing her death. we have chosen to refer to Greek mythology and use the journey to the underworld as a metaphor for the fight against depression. For those who don’t know their story, they were An unfortunate couple. After her death, Orpheus used his musical skills to bewitch the Gods of the underworld and convince them to bring the girl back to life. They, bewitched by the song, agreed, on one condition: on the way back to the earth, Orpheus had the obligation not to turn around to look at Eurydice.
Almost at the end of the journey he turns and she sinks back into the underworld.
The "turning around" for us can be understood as any form of betrayal, or suffering caused by the partner within a relationship.
We have compared him to a toxic love. Orpheus, worried about her safety, turns around to check if she is okay, but that lack of trust, that excessive apprehension causes her death. And if Eurydice suffers from depression, and depression is hell, Orpheus is nothing more than a lover that doesn't know how to behave, how to guide his soulmate out of that cage that oppresses her, and risks hurting her involuntarily, not understanding her needs.
The truth is that Eurydice alone can reach that goal, and Orpheus should limit himself to supporting her, loving her from afar, reminding her of her strength, her beauty, her hunger for life.
