Sobre la banda:
Gaias Pendulum fue formado en Medellín (Colombia) en inicios de 1995 bajo el nombre de AFLICCION. Los iniciadores fueron Andrés Merchan (batería), Juan David Palacio (guitarras) y Johan Posada (bajo). Varios vocalistas pasaron por sus filas pero solo uno se mantuvo constante, Juan David Martínez Duque. Finalmente, se decide incorporar el sonido de teclados en la banda en febrero de 1997 con Juan Miguel Góngora.
Después se consolida un sonido que el grupo denomina como Violet Metal, influenciado por bandas como Tiamat, Paradise Lost, Pink Floyd y Moonspell. Se decide cambiar el nombre por Gaias Pendulum, nombre que se deriva de raíces grecolatinas y quiere decir: El equilibrio de las fuerzas de la tierra, esto sin caer en el ecologismo ya que las letras tratan de temas como la fuerza de la naturaleza contra la condición humana. Luego del cambio se incorpora otra guitarra al grupo en esta entra Hernán Yepes.
Con esta formación realizan los primeros conciertos en Medellín (Colombia) en 1997 junto a bandas como Pagan Fears y Eternal como presentación del grupo con buena aceptación y asistencia.

About the band:
Gaias Pendulum was formed in Medellín (Colombia) in early 1995 under the name of AFLICCION. The initiators were Andrés Merchan (drums), Juan David Palacio (guitars) and Johan Posada (bass). Several vocalists went through their ranks but only one remained constant, Juan David Martínez Duque. Finally, it was decided to incorporate the sound of keyboards in the band in February of 1997 with Juan Miguel Góngora.
Afterwards, a sound that the group calls as Violet Metal is consolidated, influenced by bands like Tiamat, Paradise Lost, Pink Floyd and Moonspell. It is decided to change the name to Gaias Pendulum, name that derives from Greco-Latin roots and means: The balance of the forces of the earth, this without falling into environmentalism since the lyrics deal with topics such as the force of nature against the human condition After the change incorporates another guitar to the group in this enters Hernán Yepes.
