Gene released this one in 1963 first as a 7", 45 RPM, Promo record, anybody remember what that is? I'll give it a try, I believe the concept of promotional records became a realism when artists such as and I'll only name one, Johnny Cash was selling appliances door-to-door while at the same time trying to break into the music industry, he had been to the local recording studio and paid his $10 or whatever it was then, but that was his promo copy and that's the rest of the story, this one is definitely one of Gene's best, another really good one is "A Hundred Pounds of Clay" which is currently #3 on my channel, Gene was really good, also obscure for the most part and that was a tragedy, enjoy, Dave :)
