Gender Equity & Discrimination: Women’s Ski Jumping has been a fairly recent Olympic event. It was considered dangerous, immoral, and unladylike. In 2008, an international group of well-known female ski-jumpers brought a lawsuit against the 2010 Vancouver Canada Olympic Organizing Committee. While they won their lawsuit, it wasn’t until the 2014 Winter Games that the I.O.C. bowed to pressure and allowed women to compete. Now Ms. Anna Hoffmann, Team USA, has joined an elite group of women to “fly” and compete at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
