The album was a thematic tribute from Elton John and lyricist Bernie Taupin to soul music from the sixties and seventies. This track was lyrically inspired by The Four Tops and “Reach Out, I’ll Be There,” with musical inspiration also from the spiritual soul group the Impressions.
