The picture on the right was from the Movie Set of Sun Valley Serenade (1941) which is what I based the final mix on. I guess the piano must have fallen off the back of the stage as it can be heard but not seen...
There are several band layouts for Glenn Miller. Three common ones are this one, one with the sax and trombones reversed and one with three rows trumpets trombones and sax.
For a 1942 recording the sound quality does seem better than expected.
