Went to a show last weekend with Boo and I also took my friend Lauren along with her horse Oscar. They jumped a lovely double clear in the 80cm class and it was there first ever show away from home, so well done!
Boo and I on the other hand did not jump, I chose not to, after we had a scary incidnet in the trailer. Boo normally goes to shows alone but that weekend was my first time taking her to a show with another horse, when Oscar left to go and warm up she pawed the ground of the trailer a little and was a little impatient, but she seemed settled enough so I left to go and help Lauren warm Oscar up (luckily my other friend Nikki was sat in the jeep trying to but her contacts in, we love contact lenses) because Boo out of no wear tried to jump over the fornt bar of the trailer, got her two fornt legs over safely thankfully but the fornt bar got stuck up under her belly by her stifles and her head went through the fornt glass window, Nikki ran and opened the fornt side door to see this 16.1hh horse half crammed in the fornt section on the trailer with glass everywhere, Boo did not even freak out once, just stood there quietly with Nikki stroking her face as if to say 'im a bit stuck, probably shouldnt have done this', when I came out, this is what worried me, because she was SO calm despite being stuck in a rather tight spot. It took 4 men to lift the bar up to release it from under her belly, but we got her off safe and sound, not lame, with only 3 small cuts to her face despite breaking a glass window with her face. I intended to jump the 1m and 1.10m but only rode her in the warm up for a few minutes incase she was sore and wasnt letting on, thought it was safer just to leave it for another day incase she was injured and we couldnt tell. But she is 100% and I am taking her to a show again this Sunday so a lucky escape really, I could have easily lost her that so I'm so thankful, and she loaded like a dream even after her scare =]
