These new homeowners just moved here to Tennessee from California! They were actually within minutes from the worst California wildfires in history. As soon as temperatures, and humidity here at home began to rise, my new buddy Art quickly became aware of the moisture problem lurking under his house.
Once I conducted my inspection of Art's crawls space, I immediately saw the majority of his duct lines literally raining with condensation, and there was standing water along the entire wall of the home! What's crazy, is that this house is up on a hill.
A lot of the wetness in the foundation was due to the height of the dirt back fill along the outside foundation of the home.
Once we got our inside perimeter french drain system installed, we excavated our deepest point within the system, which always becomes our basin point, which houses our sump pump, that discharges the collected water from within the system, and discharges it outside the home via an outside pop up drain.
You will see our super thick 20 mil poly on this encapsulation, as you do when we encapsulate any crawl space under the tennessee technicians banner. The dehumidifier installed inside this crawl space repair, is our big santa fe advance dehumidifier, and you can see how much it is working inside this video, in less than 24 hours of being in operation.
