A glossy, super pop hit from 1985 and Carly Simon, one of the great singers and songwriters of last century. In the vein of 'You should hear how she talks about you' and 'Strut', two equally stridently polished pop gems, 'Tired of being blonde' was not a major hit for the singer, and coming as a pretty big gear change after her torch and traditional pop albums of the early 1980's, although the album 'Spoiled Girl' was quintessential 80's sound, it did not resonate with critics or buyers. This fan, did however enjoy this song and its fellow single 'My new boyfriend'. Of course Carly would ride a new wave of success thanks to her beautiful 'Coming around again' and other movie soundtrack songs including her Oscar win for 'Let the river run'. 'Tired of being blonde' made #70 on Billboard; and a #95 in Australia - i must have been the only person who bought the single!!!!!! Luv me some Carly Simon.
