At the end of the video Fito informs us that the song was from their newly released C.D. entitled....."Boogie 2000".

I have a little story that goes with most of our videos and I am trying to get them written as fast as I can but Mark is really getting' into this so he's raging through our archives of audio and videos to see which ones are worthy of a spot on our channel and MAN, he's gettin' er' done.

So the story for this video goes like this................

I have to say, first of all Mark has raved about Harvey Mandel since the day Mark and I met. In fact we have an extensive record collection which includes most, if not all, of Harvey Mandel's work.
When we recorded this we got to meet Harvey, who was VERY generous and signed over 30 records and CD's for us AND my T-shirt. The man's a genius, he's on everyone's albums plus he's made many solos!
Harvey Mandel is credited for developing the "two fingered tapping" style lead in which Eddie Van Halen used.

On with the story......
We went to the Electric Fetus to get a pair of drumsticks, I waited in the car for Mark while he went in. When he came out he told me to go back in and look at the front counter. I thought "what a weirdo" lol....
Anyway I humored him and went in...certainly feeling kinda "wierdo-ish" myself cause I didn't know what the heck I was looking for.....
so there I am standing, facing the front counter, looking......
then the guy (clerk) asks me if he can help me!!! lol OMG
I don't know how to explain what I'm looking for ....how embarrassing....
just then my eyes fall upon it...just below the Clerk....
the poster........ with a picture of them.
Canned Heat coming to Duluth.
So I think "okay. that's it, .......that's what Mark is all weird about ....
wait a minute!!! That looks like..........

Is that ..??? No Way.......

HARVEY MANDEL?

Lo and behold....THAT'S IT, THAT'S what's got Mark all fired up.

Mark's all time, favorite, number one Guitar Guru was coming to town!
Man we've spent MANY hours listening to Harvey Mandel....we are going to get a chance to see him LIVE!! Mark and I have had many conversations about this guy, his bass players, drummers and his music. He is at the top of our inspirations!!!
Someone we thought we'd NEVER see live.....it was exciting for me too because during all these years, I too became a Harvey fan.....P.S. Fito (after signing our canned heat albums) dubbed Mark a "Harvey Freak" .

Recorded at Fitger's Brewery Complex in the Tap Room
Duluth, Minnesota
August 15th'1999

We saw the show all three nights that they were here. Each night Mark would give all the band members including Paul Bryant (rhythm guitarist) a high five/hand slap as they walked by to get on stage to start the second half of the show.

On the last night as the band was walking up to the stage, Mark reached out (as he did the two previous nights) to include Paul's slap of the hand. This time though Paul wasn't really reaching back.
Instead, he had a beer in his hand as Mark didn't notice that for which he was carrying and nailed his beer perfectly into Paul's chest!!! OMG a HUGE beer stain right down the front of his shirt! No time to change, the poor guy had to go on stage like that!!
Needless to say, Paul didn't like us anymore :o( , LOL He wouldn't even look at us the whole time!
Luckily Paul did get a chance to change his shirt as he certainly needed to take that short break. SORRY PAUL!! DOH!!!

Happens!!!

We did get a shot of Paul playing guitar with the beer stain. Will post the video.. Stay tuned.
