"Internal Unrest started with our bassist Kristeffor hearing the lyric 'Killing me inside, it's killing me inside, it's killing me...', repeating over and over in his head. I took that foundation and crafted the rest of the lyrics to encompass the conflict we all have between our sinful nature and spiritual progression. The song is based on my own experiences from a mental perspective in my late 20s when I was struggling with extreme depression, had become distant from God, and was desperate to find a glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel.
