STORYLINE:
As Palestinians struggled to figure out what to do in the face of Israel's demand that they leave northern Gaza ahead of an expected Israeli invasion, bodies continued to pile up outside a Gaza hospital on Friday.
Some of the more than one million people affected by the evacuation order don't have the means to flee, and doctors said they couldn't evacuate the sick and wounded from hospitals.
And some who did heed the order were apparently killed in Israeli strikes on a line of traffic, according to Hamas officials.
Aid groups appealed to the international community to stop what they denounced as a possible war crime of forcible population transfer.
Friday was the seventh day of Israeli bombing prompted by Hamas’ brutal attack on southern Israel last Saturday that killed more than 1,300 Israelis, including women and children, and stunned the country.
