Lemon Demon has always been a giant influence on me and was honestly a big reason I started regularly making music. @neilcicierega showed me that you could make awesome music (while also being a comedian, an actor, a filmmaker, an editor, a puppeteer, an animator, a programmer, a mashup artist, etc.) even if you were just a kid sitting in your bedroom, and it’s something that’s motivated and inspired me for years.
Lemon Demon songs are really fucking elaborate in their production, especially for being composed and mixed all by one guy, and I never appreciated that more than when trying to transcribe a 6 minute song cycle of his by ear. this mightve broken the record for the most individual patterns ive ever created in FL Studio for a single song, clocking in at approximately 84; and it mightve also broken the record for the most mixer tracks ive used in one song, at 47.
